Stepien Lake is a property law firm based in London’s West End. We specialise in commercial and residential development, investment, finance and corporate occupier work for major UK and international corporates.
Our primary focus is property law, whether that involves development agreements, investment purchases, joint ventures, options, overages, leases, planning agreements, promotion agreements or otherwise. We also offer property, general and commercial litigation advice, including commercial and residential landlord and tenant matters, rights of light, ransom issues, boundaries and party walls and contractual and partnership matters.
Many of our deals are complex and document intensive. To maintain effective control over the transaction process we have developed bespoke document management systems based on extranets, personalised to suit an individual client’s needs and requirements – as well as of the project itself.
Once an acquisition has been made, we have a dedicated asset management unit which provides a range of services linked to property management, including leasing, renewals, licences to sublet and assign and lease enforcement.
Our experience, knowledge and technical sophistication provide our clients with a service on a par with our counterparts in large City law firms.
Our clients reflect our focus. We act for a variety of property developers and investors on large scale city centre and out of town commercial, mixed-use and residential developments and also on joint ventures. Our investment clients include various family offices for high net worth individuals. We also act for the smaller start-up businesses and medium sized private property companies, retail occupiers, leisure operators and private investors (investment funds) based in the UK, Europe, the Middle East and the US, as well as landed estates.
Our partners and consultants have worked in property for between 20 and 35 years and during that time we have built up a wide range of contacts who provide complimentary services, such as architects, project managers, valuers, financiers and specialist agents as well as professionals involved in insurance services, rights of light and party wall matters. If and when appropriate we can arrange the necessary introductions.
